15x15 area with 2 gates on opposite corners to score
- Players begin on opposite corners to the gates
- Player A feeds the ball into Player B and enters the area to stop attacker scoring through a gate
- One separate Player A runs round a chosen blue cone to make a defensive overload.
- Passer must attempt to delay the attack until his team mate has joined, or press hard early if they take a bad touch (recognising a trigger)
- Attacker try to attack (early) )opposite gate to second defender to score
Coaching Points

1v2 Skill Practice
Reds working in one phase of play
Blues working in the next
- Player B comes and shows for the ball and receives on the back foot from player A (after scanning and communicating)
- Another player B then puts pressure on the attacker and must delay the attack until the passer (A) has made a recovery run to get behind the ball
- If the two defenders are able to dispossess the attacker they can counter within 6-8 seconds to score in the mini goal at the opposite end of the pitch
- After their phase of player A and B swap positions being mindful that the other team will now be taking part to ensure good tempo of the practice
Coaching Points
- Show the attacker way from goal and maybe onto weaker foot to give team mate chance to get behind the goal before trying to win the ball back.
- Attacker, be confident on the ball and make yourself difficult to dispossess with strength, body in the way where necessary, managing the distance between ball and player if/when shielding
- Attacker, be confident to win a 1v1 and be direct with your opponent early,
- When counter attacking do it at speed, remember the difference between dribbling and running with the ball, do you have space in front of you? Also use your overload advantage to counter at speed.

Players dribble around the area performing chosen wingmaker move.
Coach will shout a number, if that number is 3 for example the players must dribble to get into groups of 3 and huddle
Any players left over without a group must complete twice the amount of kick ups (6)
Players left over then become sharks to go and dispossess someone within 3 x the amount of time (9 seconds)
