Warm up (10 mins)

Key Factors - Distribution using feet (Technique) being able to

distribute the ball to your players using both feet

Organisation

Drill 1

- 5 x 5 yards grid marked out using cones. (10 yard gap between boxes )

- GK at each end of the grid.

- GK 1 passes the ball to GK 2. GK 2 controls the ball using

appropriate technique. (use as many touches as possible to get baall under control)

- GK 2 then returns the ball with a pass to GK 1.

- Repeat the above until GK's are confident and displaying the

correct technique.

Progression

- As above using loop pass with no bounce of ball between

GK's

- limit touches between GK's passes EG; 2 touch then 1 touch

- Try to encourage quick turnover from collection to distribution

with Q. Why would this be beneficial? A. Counter Attack

Warm up (10 mins)

Organisation

Drill 1

- using 4 cones. (2 different colours) blues cones 5 yards , then red 3 yards aparts from red on an angle

- GK 10 yards apart (or your choosing)

- GK 1 passes the ball to GK 2. GK 2 controls the ball using

appropriate technique. (use as many touches as possible to get baall under control)

- GK 2 then returns the ball with a pass to GK 1.

- Repeat the above until GK's are confident and displaying the

correct technique.

- Gk 1 passes to Gk 2 , GK 2 takes a touch to the side (alternate each time) and passes back to GK 1

Progression

- As above using loop pass with no bounce of ball between

GK's, make GK control the ball and pass back between red/blue cones.

- limit touches between GK's passes EG; 2 touch then 1 touch

- Try to encourage quick turnover from collection to distribution

Key Factors - Distribution using both feet (Skill) - being able to

distribute the ball

Organisation

- 2 xsmall goals (use cones if needed instead of goals).

- Hurdle on 6 yard box in central position.

- 10 x spare football at server/GK2

- GK 1 (blue) starts in position A, jumps hurdle, recieves rolled

pass from server, controlls the ball, then aims to score into small goals

- GK 1 then runs back into position A and starts the drill again.

- Drill repeated through 5 x each goal. (swap GKs)

Progression

- GK performing the drill uses loop pass.

- Server throws the ball into the air for the GK performing the

drill to perform a high ball controll.

- Random target selection based on instruction from server e.g.

as ball is in the air RED - side right foot. In which case the GK would side foot into goal (red cones). or WHT/YEL GK would loop pass technique into goals. No order to targets to encourage decision making.

KKey Factors - Distribution using feet (SSG) - being able to

distribute the ball to your players using both feet.

Organisation

- 20 x 40 yard playing area marked out using cones.

- 2 x mini goals (1 at each end of the playing area a few yards in

from the by line in a central position)

- Spare balls at the side of the playing area to reduce pauses in

play.

- 2 teams of 3 players Indicated using kits/bibs)

- Idea of the game is to score in your opponents goal by passing

the ball between your team members to get close enough to

score a goal.

- No time restriction on how long GK can hold the ball for when in

possession, but try to encourage fast movement of the ball

where possible.

- GK must not move when in possesion of the ball.

Progression

- Time restriction (5 seconds) on players when in possesion to

pass the ball.

- GK achieving good accuracy in passing

- Communication

- Decision making (what technique to use? is the player under pressure from opposition?)
