UEFA B SWITCHING PLAY/ PRESSING WARM UP GAME
6 V 6 V 6 ( 18 players)
Principle- Can we Press the outside team to win possession and score.
Success- To be create a goalscoring opportunity from Pressing
Organisation- Play starts from the coach playing the ball into one of the wide sections
wide players are locked into the wide sections whilst 3 players can press and try to win the ball back, If they do they try to score in the goal as quick as possible.
The wide team have to do a certain number of passes before they can play the ball back across.
The remaining 3 players cant intercept to start but then you can progress the game so they can.
The wide teams objective its to play at least 3 passes before they look to switch play.
If the team in the middle win possession then they then swap with the team they won the ball back from.
Individual
Body shape to receive the ball on the back or front foot.
Play with your head up so you know what's around you.
Recognise when to switch play, individually and as a team (and when not to).
Encouraging team mates to be positive and try things.
Communication is key
Strength / power to strike a long range pass effectively.
Balance & agility (first touch, receiving)
Press aggressively , as a team
be on your toes, knees bent,
