Posession (25 mins)

Game concepts: Play short building-up, play outside

Tactical: creation-occupation of space, width, supports inside and outside, playing simple, ball circulation


Description:


4 vs 4 + 4. Situation of the team with two Defender and two Stricker. Right back and left back and midfielders will be jockers where they will have their well-defined areas. We try to find the largest occupation. They will have to maintain possession of the ball in a limited space (2 + 2 spaces divided in depth) in the creation zone and with a tactical structure determined by specific positions. There will always be 6 vs 2 situations if there is occupation of the spaces. The full-backs will progress if the ball advances. Half centers, they will give support in short or long.
Forwards will appear in the free zone or move away if the MC from their zone occupies it. The objective will be, apart from maintaining possession of the ball, being able to interpret what is the optimal moment to manifest, through driving or passing, the depth of play in order to overcome the opposition and be able to progress towards the finishing zone. .

Organization:

  • Only one player of the two teams playing per zone, they can't move out of this zone. 
  • Support players inside can move freely through the four zones
  • Support players outside have to stay out of the playing area to create width
  • Only two passes per zone allowed
  • If one team scores on the minigoal, the defeated team changes to support, and support team comes into play 

Sets:

2 sets of 12' / 1' rest between sets

Variants:
  • Eliminate the zone division so that players can move freely around the space

Posession starts with white team vs purple team, with orange team starting as support players, with 2 midfielders inside and 2 wingers outside. The objective of the game is that the team in posession changes 2 zones before being able to score in any of the two minigoals. 

Organization:

  • Only one player of the two teams playing per zone, they can't move out of this zone. 
  • Support players inside can move freely through the four zones
  • Support players outside have to stay out of the playing area to create width
  • Only two passes per zone allowed
  • If one team scores on the minigoal, the defeated team changes to support, and support team comes into play
