- Add in defenders / 2 teams keepaway
Coaching Points:
- Quick Adjustment of feet

4 v 2 transitional keepaway (change numbers if needed)
The attacking team keeps the ball away from the 2 defenders. Upon winning the ball, the defending team try to play the ball into the opp. grid into their team-mates. Upon playing the ball across, the attackers now move across to keep the ball. 2 defenders now transfer across to try and win the ball.
Progression - Add in additional defender / space as needed
Timing: 4 x 2 minute intervals (45 seconds rest in between)
Coaching points:
- Quality of pass (accuracy, weight, timing)
- Angles and distance of support
- Good 1st touch (must have good vision to know where to take 1st touch)
- Speed of movement to support

4v4/5v5 Keepaway
Teams play keepaway and earn points based on the conditions applied by the coach:

- 1 point for each player on the team touching the ball without opponent getting a touch
Progression:
Teams get a point by passing or dribbling through either of the 2 gates their team is attacking. Teams earn additional points if conditions applied by coach are met.
Coaching Points:
- Quality of pass (weight, accuracy, timing)
- Vision before receiving ball to determine which direction to take 1st touch
- Movement without ball to make passes possible (angles, proximity to ball, timing)
- Good receiving technique, sort feet out quickly

Ajax square (10 mins)
Ajax square: in a diamond (use multiple if needed). Each player stands at a cone with one ball starting at a corner, players pass the ball around the outside of the diamond then follow their pass. When a player is ready to receive a pass they back away from cone to create a little space to receive. Play going to the right first (passing and receiving with right foot) then switch directions to go to the left (passing and receiving with left foot).
Progression: If applicable add a second ball with the balls starting on opposite sides of the diamond
Coaching Points:
- Quality of pass, good technique - heel down toe up, ankle locked, hips facing target
- Good receiving technique - receive ball in the direction you need to go to set up pass
