Organization:
-Organize the group into 3 groups of 3 to 6, as this can be done with 4s as well, depending on size.
-Grid size can vary depending where you are training; remember, the smaller the area the more it caters to your defending session, I usually make the area on the end 7x15yds and the middle area 4x15 yds, but you have to adjust to your players.
-the focus is for the 3 defending players to work together, stay compact and focus on pressure, support/cover, and balance.
-try to force the attackers to play around the 3 defenders, not between them; "don't get split"
-attackers can only play the ball on the ground.
-you can add flank players to help move the ball.
-have each colour serve as defenders 5 minutes. Total 15 minutes.
Possible Progression:
-take out the cones and play 6v3 and make the objective for the attackers the same, try to split, and the defenders gain points by intercepting the ball and attempting to maintain possessions and pass to the coach.
