4v4 Positioning (20 mins)
Where do position yourself in relation to the defender when the balls under intense pressure?
When theres low pressure?
If you've taken up an inside position?
If you've taken up an ouside postion?
Under pressure: st/cm/cdm/cam must break pressure line and be in front of defender as well as look to get in behind in large amount of space, outside supporting players must break line and provide wide quick support in order to avoid being locked in
Having wide players higher in broken line positions + ability to connect through ST will force defenders to drop off eventually thus forcing opponent deeper
Initial phase: coach defenders to high press at speed
Low Pressure: As defenders drop off, attacking players checking back to the ball on goal side of defender where space is more plentiful. If defenders stay tight, coach the attacking players to move into the space left behind. If marking is loose have receiving player turn and engage defender. Starting positioning should still break initial defensive line, emphasise wide players providing deeper options goalside of defender
