Scoring system:
Attackers score by crossing from the channel or via an entery into 'final third' 1 point
Defenders win ball back in final third and counter into mini goals 2 point

Specific Practice: Defend Final Third
Coaching defending team and managing attacking team
Defending team aims: protect the middle, force wide, mimimise box enteries, stop crosses and defend the box
Speak to attacking team who coach is managing: keep width and spread the defending team.
Progression: attacking team get the ball wide quickly and drive at the fullback looking to beat them and get cross in
Regression: attacking team look to recycle when ball isnt on and take less risks.
Speak to attacking players (managing, greens) keep width, spread the defending teams
5 minutes of free play, see how drill works.
5 minutes adding in progression or regression.
30 seconds/minute Q&A style (if possible) autocratic (if Q&A isnt possible), what should defending team be doing? Protect the middle, force wide, minimise box enteries, stop crosses and defend the box.
Problem: What happens when the attacker drives at the full back to get a cross?
Solution: Either midfielder or CB doubles up. When this happens defending unit has to move as one
DO NOT ALLOW DEFENDING TEAM TO DROP OFF
Challenge: look to force wide at every oppurtuinity, coach would rather a cross go in rather than pentertrating passes through the middle.
