Set up: Pitch split into 3 equal zones. 2 teams attack vs defence with overloads for attacking team in each zone.
Format: Attacking team have 3 min to get the ball from defensive zone into attacking zone and create goal scoring opportunities, ball will start at end zone each time. If defenders win ball they can counter attack and score bonus points. Attacking players can move through the zones defenders are locked in. Rotate roles after 3 mins.
Progressions: Def can move into other zone.
Key points: Speed of attack - attack quickly, with width and depth, to attack the opposition goal through quick individual or collective play.
Options ahead of ball - In order to counter-attack, the team in possession must penetrate the opposition through dribbling, long passing or combinations and a passing option ahead of the ball can help to disorganise the defence.
Movement to attack space & receive - Player movements can support the attack with overlaps, underlaps, come short to spin in behind, go long to drop short and receive.
