Passing and with combination and possession play
Set Up:
5x5 M Square
16 cones
4 x markers
1 x white bib
4 players
4 3x3 Square
Only 3 player in each 3x3 Square with one free square
Time: 15 minutes
Instructions:
3 x player start with passing the ball and try keep possession of the ball.
Once Player in possession of the ball made the pass, they loo for empty square and make a run
They maintains possession for 2 minutes with out losing the ball they get a point
Defending Player tries to steal or tackle the ball out side the Square/playing area. Then the Player that lost the ball swap position with the player that tackled the ball.
Game Starts again
Variation/Progression:
- Make the playing area big and play 4v2
Key Coaching Points:
- When the players are exchanging positions between passing, they need to do so quickly and provide a passing option to keep possession of the ball.

2v2 possession game
Set Up:
5x5 M Square
4 x markers
4 x players ( 2 teams) + 2 x neutral players
2 x white bibs
2 x Orange bibs
Time: 30 minutes
Instructions:
- 2v2 + 2 neutral players possession game.
- Ball played in from the side by the coach to one of the teams.
- The first attacking player 3 options 1) keep possession and play/pass the ball to team mate 2) play in/pass to a target player ( Neutral player)
- 3) Dribble and play 1v1.
- If the attacking team score they get a point and the coach pass the ball back to them to start the game again
- If he attacking team lose possession or don't score the the ball/game starts from the opposite side
- If the defending team wins the ball they quickly transition from defending to attacking team and try to score with same 3 options the other team had.
Variation/Progression:
- 1) Minimum passes before scoring
- 2) Dribble the ball to score
- 3) have the goals facing the opposite side with the end zone (So player have to pass then around around the goal to score
- Swap neutral players
Key Coaching Points:
- When defending players wins the ball quickly transition and look for passing options
- A directional first touch is needed for smoother transition
- Look for teammate to pass too, teamwork to score and win
- Pass and move to score
