SET UP: 20X30 area with 4 small-sided goals on the goal lines. 2 teams (attackers v defenders)
PROCEDURE: Defender plays the ball to the attacker to create a 1v1, attacker uses feints to beat the defender to shoot in one of the two goals. If the defender wins the ball they must accelerate and shoot into the attackers goal. Swap teams after 5 minutes.
PROGRESSION: Add recovery attacker (2v1) and then a recovering defender (2v2) Defender must run around the opposite cone to the attacker. One team stay attackers until opponents score, then game is switched.
COACHING POINTS: Good 1st touch (don't go direct, go wide), eyes up, 'sneek-a-peek' how quick is the defender closing down, body positon, language, accelerate away after beating defender, shoot with 1 touch (don't walk the ball into the goal).

SET UP: 30x50 6v6 4 goals (2 at each goal line apart).
PROCEDURE: 6v6 game with both teams attacking their opponents two goals. One touch to finish.
PROGRESSION: Once a team is a goal up, one of their oppoents goals gets taken away until their oppoents score. Then the goal is replaced.
COACHING POINTS: Same points as previous drills but now looking for an end product of a pass to a team mate or a shot at goal.

SET UP: 15x15 box 4 players (3 attackers, 1 defender)
PROCEDURE: Attacker 1 drives at defender, feints to beat the defender and accelerates to the empty marker. The exercise is then repeated with attcker 2 and 3 and so on. Change the defender every 1-2 minutes.
PROGRESSION: Go opposite way/use of opposite foot.
COACHING POINTS: Eyes up, 'sneek-a-peek' how quick is the defender closing down, body position/language, accelerate away after beating defender with 1 touch.
