Introduction
This session is my matchday warm-up to be used before each game for Burton Albion Development Team. This warm-up works on a wide range of actions, including handling, positioning, diving and footwork, and aims to get goalkeepers as prepared as possible before the game. As the season goes on, I aim to add different variations that I, the keepers and other coaches come up with as the structure of this session allows for fluid movement between different aspects, and allows work to be done on a wide range of goalkeeping actions

Description
Short, sharp, powerful footwork to begin with. Aim to get the goalkeeper warm and comfortable before heading into more intense and match-realistic versions. 2 catches. Up to the goalkeeper to decide how to catch the ball using correct techniques. Short hold at front before keeper picks a direction to move. Mimicks a small, match-like adjustment a keeper may have to make for a 'lay-off' or pass before a shot
TargetsCatch every ball using the correct technique. Does not matter if a ball is dropped, keeper must put it behind them and move on.
ChallengesInclude rolling balls for K-Shape practice

Longer, sharp footwork to begin with. Aim to get the goalkeeper warm and comfortable before heading into more intense and match-realistic versions. 2 catches. Up to the goalkeeper to decide how to catch the ball using correct techniques. More of a focus on footwork movement across a larger distance and 'eye-position', ensuring the keeper maintains a good amount of eye contact with the ball, not looking at feet or 'spots' as set positions
TargetsCatch every ball using the correct technique. Does not matter if a ball is dropped, keeper must put it behind them and move on.

Keeper starts centrally before bursting out to one side and making a low dive either side. Random service to make the practice more match-realistic. Work on positioning and low dives to begin with, work up into medium and high dives.
