Over the 8 weeks we would like to start to implement basic rules:

Ball is out- play stops (Passing in)

Kick off, Goal kicks, Corner kicks, Free kicks, Drop ball, Throw ins and Penalty Kicks.

Week 1-

When the ball goes out the players should restart with a

pass in, the game will go live on the recieving players first touch

(first pass is free).

- Unbroken Lines = Players will go into an space where they are in line with the ball and no one is in between.

Week 2- Kick Off

The game will start on a Kick Off. Make sure the kids play a good number of games to have an emphasis on the rule.

Everytime a team scores a goal we will restart in the middle as a Kick off.

Week 3-

The game will restart on goal kick. Make sure kids go to a shape that gives them Width, Legth and Depth. Refer to the principles of play in a form of a shape instead.

Depth- Player playing a goal kick ( Bottom of Diamond)

Width- Player going wide recognizing space (Sides of Diamond)

Length- Player closer to the opposite goal recognizing passing lanes (Top of diamond)

Week 4-

This week we will focus on Corner Kicks . Give players the opportunity to be in spaces close to goal where they can attack the goal.

Player taking a corner kick, aim for an empty space where players can run into

First pass is free

Week- 5

Reviewed of all different restarts we already covered.

Week-6

We are going to do throw ins when ball comes out on the side. We will let the player bring the ball down and then game goes live.

Throw ins:

Both feet on the ground

Both hands holding the ball

Bring ball towards the back of the neck and then towards the front as releasing the ball to a teammate's feet.

Week 7:

Look for any fouls close to goal and call a Penalty Kick.

Penalty Kicks:

Have the players put the ball in front of the goal from 5 to 12 yards depending on the ability level of the players you have.

Make sure you let the players decide the kicker and give them 10 seconds to come up with it. Try to Reinforce this to put them in an environment of working as a team and share thoughts within acceptance.

Shoot with Laces.
