Screen 1 (15 mins)

Method:

Small grid of 6meters x 6 meters

2 attackers v 1 defender.

Play starts with the defender playing the ball out from his goal to an attacker. They attack and try to work the attack to score in the mini goal.

If defender wins the ball he scores in the opposite goals.

Coaching Points:

Attackers must stay onside. Defender wins a point for a goal or catching them offside.

Attacker must use the full width and make the defender commit.

Defender approach's the ball at pace but stops short (approx. 1 meter) adopts a defensive pose (low centre of gravity) between the attacker and his partner and try's to push the defender wide towards the by-line while blocking the passing lane.

He doesn't cross the half way line (otherwise they cannot adapt and use the halfway line as an ally.
