Description

Team objectives:

SHOWCASE yourself. This does not necesarily mean winning the games but rather demonstating that you are the type of player a coach would want in their program. The expectation is that you show leadership of yourself and your team as a whole. Take care of each other and fight to the last whistle. Be great representations of your club, yourselves and your families.

Set Piece: Patterns of play

Defensive Shape Description:

Based on the position of the ball the closest defender is to quickly press and the others drop to prevent any penetration pass getting in behind. Center backs demand for players to press and to cover. Please see the next 3 diagrams for examples of different scenarios.

Counter Attacking Following the Press Description:

Following the team winning the ball back we immediately look to progress the ball to create a chance. This is done via the player winning the ball dribbling to confront the back line, the player the winning ball playing a penetrating pass, the player winning the ball crossing the ball, or the player winning the ball shooting. If this is not done quickly then the number advantage will be gone. TAKE AS FEW TOUCHES AS POSSIBLE
