description --
we were on 2 nd day recovery , so large part of group do 2/3000 km in session and rest of lads top up
we worked on technical drills for attacking play off manikins and ovrloads
to work on passing and movemnents in patterns of play , linking between players to recieve or create and good timing of movements with a finish and 2 nd ball finish
feelings --
i changed the training day off to 2 nd day recovery to see what the playersvreactions were as usually we off 2 nd day after game , how would the players feel ?
what was there mantality like ??
learn to adapt ?
during session was pleased as a learning day off manikins and players were performing welll with good spirit and quality in session , good smile on there face
after was pleased with overal work , some of the lads wanted to do more but sports science said no , and the lads who worked a bit longer were good attaitude
evaluation --was more annoyed with sports science questions why we were training on 2 nd day off ?
but experience of a teaching day off manikins and executing drills , with why , timibg , intensity , linking a major factor to take into games programme
analysis --
i thought the would be one or two sulkers in session , but only one really and hes the player we put these session on for so he can learn whats required of the ball , he likes to play in possession but the way we play links play and movements , so pleased he sw how , when and why to link movements and whats required off the ball
conclusion --
good training day , players attitude were good , distances were reached , squad players had a good work out and good stats with ball work , good teaching day ,
action plan --
i would do the same session again , good working off manikins on passing drills to show movements with small functions to open legs and lungs to make it realistic
session went well
