The cross and set up
Aim for all passes to be on the deck.
Winger to look across the field to see players in box, to see offside line
Winger to get side on to pass back - pass then accelerate
Pass to winger to be 1 touch if possible
Winger can take first touch in at 45 to set up for an easier cross
Encourage winger to take cross with the other foot- i.e., left foot on right wing, especially if the pass is short ( or if defender position blocks the natural foot

Pass in the air for strikers or wingers
Winger runs line on first pass and crosses
Winger drives to goal line then cuts cross back to penalty spot
2/5 overlaps winger and crosses
Winger runs infield after pass to return pass from 2 or 5 return then winger plays a ball into the box
6/8 pass to 9 or 10 can be returned to restart
6 and 8 can split so winger can play back out of pressure for recycling
Add defenders
Look at opposite winger and back getting into box

set up positions
This is played in 1/2 a field.
Uses players 1 & 6,8 & 9,10 & 7,2 & 11,5.
Play starts at the centre. All field players are in groups of 2 to play 2 short passes before a longer pass.
Passing sequence is short, short, long forward then short, short, long wide then short, short (back, thru), cross then finish.
After each sequence, the wide ball goes to the opposite side.
All passes are to be 1 or 2 touches. 6 & 8 play two passes then long pass to 9 who passes to 10.
This will be useful for u16, women's and men's team as a warmup, to practice passing accuracy, passing combinations, crossing and finishing.
There is no defender pressure.
The only pressure is the number of touches, reaching the player with the pass, crossing to avoid the keeper, crossing so the striker is running toward goal, and timing of the run onto the cross.
There is plenty to coach
