Objective: Dribble in the field, look up to find the open gates and then dribble with COP to dribble through and finding the open goal. Dribble through as many gates as possible in each round with all parts of foot and both feet.
Organization: 20yd W x 30yd L, with every player having a ball at their feet. 1 minute rounds with players keeping track of how many gates they dribble through. Cannot dribble through the same gate twice in a row and try to avoid hitting the cones. Can the players progress to performing COD moves once dribbling through the gates in the later rounds? On coaches go players go to goal. Can do multiple times a round.
Key Words: Dribble, look up, COP, COD, open gate(space)
Guided Questions: 1) How can you dribble through more gates as you compete in more rounds? 2) How can you find open gates vs. gates being dribbled through? 3) What moves can you perform to find open gates once you dribble through one already?
Answers: 1) Dribble through gates with close control (smaller touches) and then COP to find open gates. 2) Look up. 3) COD moves (pullback/ blind pullback, inside/outside turn. Let them show you some ideas they may have as well.
Notes: The rounds should be players competing with themselves to try and better their dribbling ability every round. If a player doesn't beat their previous score, ask why and what they could do differently next round. Then show me.

Objective: To learn and practice change of direction moves and then dribbling to goal at pace. Change of direction and change of pace.
Organization: Split the field using two 10yd W x 15yd L. Every player has a ball at their foot and are split up into two groups. Players will dribble to the middle of the field and then perform a COD move (pull back/blind pullback, inside/outside turn) and then change of pace to go to goal to score. Next players go after players in front go to goal.
Key Words: Dribble, look up, change of direction, change of pace
Guided Questions: 1) What part of the foot should we use for a pullback/ blind pullback? 2) What part of the foot to use when performing inside turn? 3) What part of the foot when performing outside turn? 4) What parts of the foot can you use when shooting on goal?
Answers: 1) Sole. 2) Big toe. 3) Pinky toe. 4) Inside, laces, outside (put more focus on inside and laces)
Notes: After players perform a move, emphasize them to change pace and dribble with speed to goal. They just did a move to get away from a defender, why run at the same pace? After shooting/scoring go around the field and not back through the middle (safety).
