Frame
Individual technique of RWB unopposed > opposed. Players are given the opportunity to attack free space with speed and control. First touch is key, as it can be the difference between engaging in a 1v1 or evading pressure by RWB.
Exercise A - Explanation
Blue player RWB towards end cone and plays a pass to receiving orange player. Orange player takes a positive first touch into space ahead and repeats the sequence. Blue player joins the back of orange line and rests.
Exercise B - Explanation
Blue RWB to half-way; performs two step-on turns (right step-on, left touch away) after which, they drive out of the second turn and play a pass to the player opposite them.

Exercise C - Explanation
Blue player runs with the ball towards halfway line, after which, he can play a diagonal pass to a blue team mate. Once this pass has been made, an orange player from the same side as the blue player receiving may give chase and attempt to stop the next transfer. Process is repeated on the opposite side, if the blue player successfully maintains possession and plays to their team mate on the opposite side.
Each successful transfer = 1 point. Play first team to 10 points.
NB: the player in possession can only pass the ball to a team mate, once they have crossed the halfway line. If a chasing defender can force a mistake, then they earn their team possession. In any case, a teams first run (in possession) is always unopposed.

Progressions
*Change attacking teams every 4-5 minutes
1) Offensive team gets one point if they dribble through the gate.
2) Add defenders if it's too easy, or place defenders in zones if it's too hard.
Coaching Points
Team Shape: How is our depth and width when we have possession of the ball?
How are we receiving the ball?
What are we doing before receiving the ball?

4 v 4 in a 30x20 area in order for a team to score everyone has to touch the ball at least once before going to goal. Looking to promote movement off the ball and good supporting angles exhibiting patience is a secondary benefit of this game.

Welcome Game (15 mins)
Objective: Work in tight spaces to move the ball.
Organization: 10x16 yd grid, split down the middle to create 2 connected 10x8 yd grids. 3 designated neutral players (Blue) set up as shown above. 2 teams of 4 (Red/Yellow); team on offense finds themselves on the outisde of the grid (as shown), team on defense finds themselves centrally (as shown). 2 Reds/Yellows per 10x8 grid. Central neutral player can move from grid to grid.
Blues - CMs (6,8,8)
Reds - Back 4
Yellow - 7,9,10,11
Instructions: Rondo. If the defensive team wins possession, they must look to find a neutral (Blue) on the outside of the grid. If they successfully do this, Reds/Yellows switch roles and the game continues. 2-touch limitation.
Variations: Ultimately, we want to look to be able to find our Central Neutral (Blue - CM) to move the ball from one area to the next. So, we make it so that the only way the ball can go from one side of the grid to the next is through the Central Neutral Player.
Key Coaching Points:
- Move the opponent.
- Speed of play.
- Anticipation.
- How can we work to find our CMs?
