Defending Goal Kick Formation: (Updated 10/25/24)

Objective:

to get the opponent to play out to their Left Center Back (L-CB) deep in their defending territory by taking away all other pass options, then have the 9 (striker) press and force a bad pass to be intercepted

Set up:

- Set up MUST be quick! Don't get caught not being ready or this plan will not be very effective.

- We will mark up (touch-tight!) all their players EXCEPT their left and right center back. Our 9 will mark up their right center back loosely (close enough to make the keeper not want to play to that man).

- Once the ball is played to the L-CB our 9 will quickly go and put pressure on the L-CB. With the 9 putting pressure their L-CB, he will likely make a bad pass that all must be ready to intercept and counter attack. Our 6 is covering the center of the field prepared to intercept any long deep passes.

-If they punt or play long balls to space we have to intercept, WIN the ball, and counter attack with quick passes working the ball up and create good chances.
