Working on some passing combinations to break the lines.

Passing Activation (20 mins)

3 Passing Patterns - the first is a standard warm-up, the other two contain elements of breaking lines.


  • Receive with one foot and pass with the other
  • Sprint to follow your pass
  • We'll switch directions after 3 minutes

Learning Objectives

Passing and receiving skills. Where is the ball going to, where is it coming from?
Technical Tactical
Occupying areas to both support players and create space for them.
Technical Physical
Constant movement (Aerobic). HIIT provides Anaerobic work.
Technical Psychological
Pushing your body to always be moving, even when it feels tired.

Spatial Awareness Unopposed (15 mins)

3 Groups - 2 participating, and 1 doing HIIT

  • Each player within a group will be assigned a number
  • Groups move within their space and pass in a specific sequence
  • Must move in multiple directions, must never stop moving, and must play in 1-2 touches.
  • 3 different sequences: 1 to 5 sequentially, then 5 to 1, then 1,3,5,2,4
  • HIIT Group: Squats x2 , Mountain Climbers x2 , Burpees x1.

Spatial Awareness - Opposed (30 mins)

3 Teams - 2 working on their own, 1 defending against both, 1 Neutral

  • 2 Teams will have a target player on either end. They look to switch the ball from end to end.
  • 1 Team looks to defend against both teams, preventing them from passing the ball to the target
  • Attacking teams get 1pt for every successful target to target pass without interception
Swap after 3 minutes x 3 rounds. Team with most points get 3 King of the Courts in a row.
