Introduction

Introduction - Distribution from GK


Game

Players in z1 and z2 to move onto field to start

GK plays a ball to open player in either zone. Following to distribute ball into next zone.

Attacking team to get ball into small goal or dribble across the line to score.

Defending team to steal ball for a point and then score for bonus.

game resets when both balls go out of play.

GK to simulate either (*to confirm this before game starts);

  > restart from ball going out of play.

  > play from a save.   


Rules

- game rules apply

- 1 defender in each zone

- 2 attackers in each zone

What to expect

- GK to go for a big boot

  > encourage playing directly to a player where possible. especially with the overload.

  > encourage a quick play to catch the defender out of position and for a quick counter attack.

- Defender to defend the goal

  > encourage the defender to bend their run to limit options

  > encourage managing space so they can exert pressure but still delay progress until an opportunity presents itself. 

- Attackers to stand in one spot calling for the ball

  > encourage the attackers to move around to give themselves or their team mate space to receive the ball

  > encourage communication, shoulder checks and scanning

The field is divided into a left and right

 Those halves are divided into zone 1 and zone 2


Game

2 attacking players locked in z1 in each half.

1 attacking player locked in z2 in each half

1 attacking player to roam

4 defending to roam

GK plays a ball to open player in either half. Following to distribute ball into next zone.

  > the goalkeeper can distribute to any zone as well.

Attacking team to get ball into small goal, or dribble across the line to score

Defending team to steal ball for a point and then score for bonus.

game resets when both balls go out of play.

GK to simulate either (*to confirm this before game starts);

  > restart from ball going out of play.

  > play from a save.

- Attacking players are locked into their zones and halves.

 > for example. players C are locked into h1, z1 and player A are locked into z2, h1

 > EXCEPT player 1 who is free to roam z2 in either half.

- Defending players are free to roam.

What to expect

- GK to pass to the loudest player

  > encourage scanning the field

  > encourage passes to players who have the most space around them.

- Defender to directly mark a player

  > encourage managing space so they can exert pressure as soon as the ball is played to any player on the field.

  > encourage communication to their team mates to cover space and close it down quickly.

- Attackers to stand in one spot calling for the ball

  > encourage the attackers to move around to give themselves or their team mate space to receive the ball

  > encourage communication, shoulder checks and scanning

  > encourage identifying the next step, what will they do when/if they receive the ball. OR what will they do if their teammate gets the ball
