5v5+1 Interchanging Possession
-16x16 yard grid, 3v3+1 inside +2 bumpers for each team
-combine w/ dynamic warmup
-can be 4v4+1 in 12x12 yard grid
Rules:
-Three 4 minute games
-Player who plays bumper must interchange
-Neutral cannot play bumper
-10 passes=1 point

11v11 Defensive Shape Walkthrough
-Use Cones/Flags/Balls to mimic shape of opponent
-High pressure def. vs 4-4-2 (roles, managing space, etc.)
-Discuss baiting to play out then GO ALL OUT!
-Coach weak side while in possession
-Stay COMPACT vertical and horizontal (25-30 yards)
-Predict! Take up best position to execute your role
-Go on release trigger! Pass from x to y
-Body shape and positioning is KEY, funnel inside in their half
-First player goes to make it predictable, NOT TO WIN THE BALL, do your job!
-MF 3: Stay connected, and COMMUNICATE
PROBLEMS
-SPOA - Who Goes? - Solution: OB or CM: How do we decide? Whoever is closest! (Then slide!)
-ST dropping in - what do we do? CDM screens, CB be ready to step (Is the team going long as well?)
Roles
-8/10 = Communicate w/9 to decide who to mark, force everything central
-6 = Communicate to 8/10 and screen CB's, still staying close enough to 8/10 to cover (space between lines)
-2/3 = Look to step in to wide player when ball side if closest. Communicate with CM if you want them to go. Then stay close enough to cover
-4/5 = Look to step in to MF to deny penetrating passes, move your 6 left, right, up, down. Hold OB's accountable, particularly in dealing with wingers
-1 = Play high off line to collect through balls, coach weak side and stay engaged with back line
