Transition

Team Learning Objectives

- Transitioning to a defensive shape when losing the ball in midfield areas

Session Organisation

- As shown, midfield 4 and opposing midfield players 'locked in' to shaded area

How to Play

- Reds try to score in two mini target goals, blue look to win the ball and counter to goal

- Starting point can be from reds GK to play out from the back or can be from other GK who plays into reds to get the game going

- Initially only 1 blue and 1 red can leave the shaded area as the blues attack

- Ball must go into the #9 for blues to begin attacking

Progressions

- Ball can go into #7 or #11 to start attack

- Blues can carry the ball out of the shaded area

- Increas numbers of players who can attack/recover until play becomes fluid
