Teach defending position front foot positive low body and look at ball
Start with player passing ball to diagonal player and simulate run towards the attacker player the ball was passed too. Player recieving ball should just hold and await the pressure of defender coach defensive posture. repeat each way 5 times each.
progression make pass live with receiving player to attack defenders cone. defender must win ball or slow attacker up to force turn away from target.

Waves of Attack
3v2 Work players in defence. Have attackers move ball towards goal live. Coach 2 defenders to work together and shift. Do not cross each other. defender closest to ball engages player with ball other defender drops at angle 5 yards behind look for sess saw motion if play is switched from one side to other. Encourage on holding up speed of attack.
Progression add recovering defender. slow attack down to allow recovering defender in to support. Teach recovering defender to get back behind ball rather than going to ball. rotate 2 players out and in with each rotation.
Defender send the ball to target goals or GK as soon as its recovered.
CP: Pressure, Cover, Time to push up, time to stop the play.
