Aim
To improve our ability to move and save a ball at speed
Equipment

Movement 20 mins
Aim
To have the gK's making quick movement into the goal and getting set for a shot
Instructions
The GK will move through the ladder using short, sharp footsteps, he will immediately and at speed move into the goal where he will receive 3 shots from c1,2 & 3 (x2)
Progression
The GK will receive 3 shots from c2 (as the coach is getting into position, this will allow the GK to rise and move into position) along with 1 & 2 (x2)
Coaching points
* The GK is moving at maximum speed to get inline and down the line from the ball
* The GK is moving away from his line and closing the angle down a little
* The ball is being secured or he is making a real attempt to get the 2nd ball

Pass & Save 20 mins
Aim
To have the GK making a simple pass to his defender but then having to recover to save a quick shot on goal
Instructions
The Gk will start in the centre of his goal, on command he will move quickly to the ball and pass to c1 who will return the ball to the GK
The GK will then move the ball across his goal and pass to c2 who will receive, control the ball and move it out to the side and shoot - this allows the GK to recover and set for the incoming shot
Progression
A 3rd coach will be further out and c2 will pass to him and he can hit the ball 1st time to score
Coaching points
* The GK is making accurate passes and not moving the game on before he has passed an accurate ball
* The GK see's the danger early and moves quickly to get into position
* The GK is securing the ball or moving it to safety

Aim
To get the muscles warmed up and have the GK moving at speed and increasing their desire to get the ball
Instructions
The coach will start with the ball and throw it to the GK who will catch and return it.
The coach will feed the ball out to alternative sides and the GK is to try and get to the ball before it bounces twice .. more than 1 bounce = punishment!!

* Desire to reach the ball under stress
* Correct diving technique and securing the ball
* Returning the ball to the coach and not near to him !!!
