Goalkeeping session on defending the area with primary focus being repositioning and adjusting starting positions in relation to the location of the cross and in- and out-swinging deliveries.

Footwork into High Ball Collection
Set-Up
Two sets of two hurdles 3 yards apart & laid down diagonally
Mannequin is three yards out between the hurdle sets
S1 & S2 w/ supply of ball & about 10 yards out diagonally from the far set of hurdles
A GK at each hurdle to start
Procedure
Both GKs start at the same time & do side-on (facing server on far side), two steps in footwork
Once GKs come out of the hurdles, they set side on to their server
Servers throw the ball up at the same time
Once GKs claim the ball, then roll it out to the near side server & switch side for the nest set
3-4 rounds on each side
Coaching Points
Set side-on to the ball
First step is no step when the aerial ball is served
Catch the ball above the head at the very minimum

Wide/Narrow & In-swinging/Out-swinging Services
Set-Up:
S1 by the end line & S2 by the edge of the box
Supply of balls by the end line
Two mannequins four yards out of goal & within the frame of the goal
Target player about 40-50 yards out
Procedure:
S1 & S2 freely pass the ball and at any point cross it into the area
When GK claims it, s/he then run to the edge of the box to distribute it to the target player
3-6 reps from each side
Coaching Points:
When the ball is by the end line, GK needs to position in the middle of the goal
Take more conservative starting position closer to the goal line when in-swinging service
Take up more space on the out-swinging service

Competition - collect & finish
Set-Up:
Two goals 12 yards apart facing each other
GK in each goal
S1 & S2 twelve yards apart by the sideline
Supply of balls by the end line
Two mannequins six yards out in front of each goal & within the frame of the goals
Procedure:
S1 & S2 freely pass the ball and at any point cross it into the area between the two goals
When a GK claims it, s/he then put the ball down (hand on ball) and toe it to the other goal
1 point for collecting a cross
2 points if a goal is scored after the collection
Games of 10 crosses
Coaching Points:
Even though this is competition, look to reposition quickly and make the right decision on the arial ball
Look to catch the ball above and/or before the nearest player to the ball

Dots set up in more or less a circle shape w/ 4 yards between them
GKs set up by a dot leaving one dot open
Once the ball is played out, that GK needs to get to the open dot and it's continues until the ball is dead
3 mins - warm-up round
3 mins - competition round where the GK that gets three negative points loses
Negative points are awarded when:
a) More/less then 2 touches are taken on the ball
b) Misplaced pass (too high or below the waist)
c) Not running to the open dot
