TEAM TRAINING:
Breaking down a low block!
Four blocks of 3x6 minutes.
Focusing on the blue team attacking patterns to try and counter act a low block.
Formations -
Blue/Attacking - 4-3-3 (without a cb, 3-3-3)
Red/Defending - 4-4-2 (without a st 4-4-1)
Pitch size, full width, 65 yards in length.
Sub principles:
Attacking the box at speed with the opportunity arrises
Staying patient on the ball and recognising when to make forward passes
Encourage defenders to play between the lines
Stretching the defensive line and trying to play.
Block 2 pattern B
Playing through the low block,
Trying to overload the top line.
Drop the wingers between the lines and play with two tens on the top line.
Try to overload the top line to see they change to a back four, this will need ball speed at high pace with full backs higher trying to bounce balls into the 10's and wingers.
We're then looking at playing balls from the 6 or wingers into the tens through the back line into the box for cut backs across the box.
Need to be patient with this move and move the ball with speed, high football iq to recognise when the pass is on. This will also allow the 6 to play the 9 in if space opens. from the tens popping the ball in and out.
Direct coaching on the tens when to come feet and went to run in behind.
Hoping our full backs occupy the wingers and the middle two cdms break up from an overload on the top line allowing us to play through.
Main aim is to play through the tens on the top line.
If we lose the ball the reds have ten seconds to score, and blues are to press high.

Block 3 pattern C
Playing over them
We want to draw them out as much as we can for the cbs or 6 to play a pass over to opposite winger.
We want to move the ball from side to side involving the cdms deep to try and bring the defensive line higher. We want to draw the low block to one side of the pitch while keeping wingers in lanes 1&5 at all times. We then want a big switch of play from deep lying 6 or cb to spin the defence and put the ball in an area for the wingers to run in behind.
We are then looking for full back to go on and support, it's important we penetrate the space and get balls into the box or winger cutting in to get shots off. We don't want the ball coming back out.
Important to have runners in the box after it, and the 8 to go and support second balls with the full back if the pass isn't good enough and defenders get first contact.
If we lose the ball the reds have ten seconds to score, and blues are to press high.

Block 1 pattern A
Play through wide areas in lanes 1 and 5, forcing the back line to stretch and present gaps between the back four.
Gk to play ball to cb who plays to full back, work the ball back over to the opposite side through cb and deep lying over lapping full back, and a the 9 to join in in lanes 2&4 to try and create gaps in the defence.
We are then looking at balls in behind to either ten running into box or overlapping full back, fullback and ten are looking for balls into the box or pull backs. The ten needs to start in the area where the 9 runs into and then switch with the 9 when the 9 makes the run to fill the space left behind by the 9.
We are looking to get behind the back four as quick as we can put balls into the box. Looking at the 8 the ten and the opposite winger to get into the box.
This should give the winger three options, an overlapping full back, a 9 running across the line and in behind, or to cut in and give freedom.
Main aim is to play around them at pace.
If we lose the ball the reds have ten seconds to score, and blues are to press high.
