This practice is a General Principle practice based on Switching play to the opposite side. The aim of the practice is to build up from the back and find a spare player through switching play against 1 striker and exploiting space on the weak side. The practice will focus on the. understanding of when and how to play through, around and over the opposition based on the type of pressure applied to a midfield 3 when playing in a 4-3-3.

Drill

Objective. Unopposed drill to develop tactical awareness on switching play.

Organisation. - Area 60 x half pitch with a minimum of 5 players or more on rotation.2 mini goals, cones, 2 mannequins and a good supply of balls. The cycle is repeated from the other side with the #4 playing the ball into the GK etc.
