Accuracy- Look to see where the goalkeeper is and where the space is to shoot the ball. If the goalkeeper is standing slightly more to one side aim for the bigger side of the goal. Make the keeper work!
Positive first touch- when shooting the ball ensure you have a first touch out of your feet, which enables you to get a good strike on goal.
Technique- Knee, head and shoulder over the ball. Keep arms out for balance and strike through the ball.

Organisation
12 Players with a ball each.
Two groups of 6 players (shown on diagram above).
Extra balls close by.
Session Explanation
First players from the blue and red team dribble through cones at the same time. Once through the cones they pass the ball to feeder or lays it off for them to shoot first time.
They must shoot across the goal and aim not to hit the middle of the goal.
Once player has taken shot, the next player from each group goes.
Progression
Players use left foot in the group on the left.
Practice a curled finish "Thierry Henry"
Remove cones and include G.K- combination to shoot- Shoot from further out.

Organisation / Setup:
2 x 30x20 Area
10x10 area setup as the shooting area (shown with the cones).
Two goals (can use GK depending size of goal).
Two teams of 3 players (can add more).
Lots of balls available (Minimum of 8 balls).
Session Explnation
Ball is served into shooting player in central square. (Blues and reds shooting in opposite goals).
Shooting player controls ball then shoots at goal.
Using red as an example- Shooting player receives the ball from Player 1 shoots and then turns to receive the ball from player 2 and shoots. 4 shots each and then swap middle man. Blues do the same.

Shots must be made first time.
Add a GK.
Remove cones in middle- Play a 2 v 2 in the middle with target players at either end by the goal. Must combine with target player to score.

Session Explanation
Team in possession has 10 seconds to shoot. Then possession is turned over and the other team attack there goal. With the time limit look to decrease or increase depending on how they cope, ability, success, etc.
Objective is to create and convert as many shooting opportunities as possible.

Has to be a first time finish.
Introduce a target player behind each of the goal. If you combine with target player and score it's worth two goals.

Players in a circle around the perimeter
Session Explanation
Players all at once jog into the centre cone and then out again.
Do a lot of different movements. Forward/ backwards/side steps into cone.
Dynamic stretches into cones- Ask players to pick a dynamic stretch.
Sprint to cone and back out.
Progression
Players get a ball from the side and practice their ball juggling and locking ankle for shooting technique.
Get in to pairs and strike the ball to partner over a distance.
