First Touch to Pass Drill
Set Up: 6 zones at 2m X 4m
Squads set up as 2 groups of 3 (inc the coach) to compete against each other in a passing drill:
Stage 1: slow passing straight ad diagonal across boxes, looking at quality of both first touch pass receipt and pass to team mate who is moving around his zone looking for best position to receive and dispose of ball also take an extra touch if required (ball to be received with back foot and passed with front foot)
Stage 2: passing speed and intensity to increase in same methodology as stage 1 with quality of process maintained and improved as intensity is increased plus Competition phase employed as Team A attempting to beat Team B in number of passes but also reducing passing errors.
Stage 3: Change direction of ball flow
Stage 4: once speed, quality and intensity have been established and maintained you can enter a second ball to develop further pressure to the drill.(If they manage )
