(Switch teams every 90 seconds)
Activity: 3v3+3 and keeper
- (3) teams of (3) players and (1) keeper.
- (Additional players can play 1 v 1 then rotate)
- (2) teams (black & yellow) play in the grid with (1) team acting as bumper players (blue). Bumper players cannot pass to each other.
Scoring:
- The attacking team scores in the big goal
- Defensive team scores by winning possession and finding the bumper player at the top of the grid.

Coaching Points
1) Immediate pressure - not allowing time and space for the attackers to turn
2) Body shape and angle (keeping an eye on the ball).
3) 2nd defender needs to be opened up so they can see both ball and man.
4) Keeper stays connected with the defenders
5) #6 defends from the front but checks shoulders to cut out passing lanes.

Activity:

- Defending team play 1-2-3-1 (#1, #4, #5, #6, #8, #10 and point #9) - yellow

- Playing to (2) big goals with offside rules apply.
- No corner, if a corner is won the ball goes back to the keeper of the team who won the corner.

Coaching Points:
1) Team shape, to allow the ball to wide, to come back in and then try to win possession.
2) Compactness and being patient by not chasing the ball
3) If possible create a pressure pocket and lock the opposition in on the sideline.
4) Distance and angles between the #1 and back line
5) Technique of tackling (block, poke and slide)

- Defensive team plays 1-4-2-1 (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #8, #9)
- Versus a 1-3-3-1 (#1, #2, #3, #5, #6, #8, #9, #10)
- Encourage the team you are coaching to force the play wide when the opponents are in possession to try and eventually win possession in wide areas or forced back centrally for it to be intercepted or challenged.

Activity: 2v2 defending
- (2) equal teams
- Zones at side of the playing area.
- A gate is placed at the end of the grid.
- Coach plays the ball into the attacking players who try to dribble through the gate centrally.
- (1) defender starts half way up the grid and applies the pressure and is joined by a 2nd defender.
Scoring
- If the defending team force the dribbler into a zone, they win (2) points.
Progression:
- Defending team win the ball and counter attacking to the gate.
Coaching Points
1) Immediate pressure, angle and speed of approach
2) Body shape / position- step across the attacker if they take a big touch
3) Supporting angle and distance of 2nd defender
