THE SESSION: 1v1 Transition
Set Up: 12x16
Two goals back to back half way throught the area
The blue team start off opposite one goal and score in that goal
Once that players has score they must run around both goals to defend red team
Red players goes as soon as blue player strikes at goal
This continues in the same order
Two different teams, keep count of what team gets the most points
Key Messages:
Attack at pace
Use space to drive ball
Punish defender
Recover quickly
Progressions:
2v1
Which ever player shots or losses ball must defend opposite goal
Other player returns to line

THE SESSION: 1v1 Transition
Set Up: 12x16
Players spilt in half both both teams stand on the side of the goal
Players attack the goal opposite, once they have attacked they must defend the players coming from the side of the goal
Shot then recover
Keep score
Key Messages:
Attack at pace
Positive first touch
Don't allow defender to recover
Once had shot recover quickly
Progressions:
2 v 1
Two players attack against the one defender, whoever shots or loses ball becomes defender for next wave

THE SESSION: Continuous Transition
Set Up: 40x60
Scenario 1
Reds start the attack with their number 6
Objective for the reds is to score in any of the three goals (1 point for a side goal and 2 points for the centre goal)
As soon as the reds attack is finished (ball goes out or a goal is score) the coach plays the ball into the blue team
Reds now have to make a quick transition
Blues have to dribble the ball into their end zone for 2 points or pass into their target man for one point
If the blues win the ball in open play then it will be a normal transition
Scenario 2:
The red team continously defend the first phase
The coach passes to the white team every time the ball goes out and the reds must press high up the field and try to counter attack
When the reds counter is finished (goal or ball out of play) the coach passes a new ball into the blues and the reds must switch the point of their defence and apply a new high press

THE SESSION: Transition Defence to Attack
Set Up: 24x32
Blues starts of attacking 3v2 against the reds
Blues look to play ball forward into the scoring zone for one of their players to run onto
As soon as the blue attack is finished (goal or out of play) two reds enter the field from the side, one of them having the ball
They attack 4v3 with one of the blues recovering after shooting
The two reds who entered the field late now become defenders and three new blues enter the field

Quick forward runs

THE SESSION: Transition Defence to Attack
Set Up: 24x32
Ball starts with the reds and the blacks who attack the blue team 4v4 who looks to score past the yellow keeper
If the blues win the ball back, whoever lost the ball (black for example) must then defend 4v2
If the blacks regain possession they attack in a overload 2v4 (only get two transitions before ball is dead)
The two reds are out of the game and leave the field
As soon as the ball goes out the coach plays a new ball into the new blacks and reds
Attacks by blues must be complete within 10 seconds
Change over four defending every two - three minutes
Key Messages:
Defending as a unit
Vertical passes in transition
Support in transition
Progressions:
Reduce time limit on counters
Number of touches per player (both sides)
Competition:
Group of four with most counter goals

THE SESSION: Attacking Transitions
Set Up: 24x32
The game starts with blues attacking 2v1
Once every attack finishes, the defending team gains two players
The team who have just attacked must now defend outnumbered
2v1, 2v3, 4v3, restart
Progressions:
Start 1v1, if you score goal or deny goal you gain the extra player
Key Messages:
Attack at pace, don't wait for defenders to get set
Movement between, attacking players, don't run in straight lines
Defenders work on four Ds - Delay, Deny, Deflect, Destroy
Competitions/Challenges:
Winning team starts the next game as overloading team

Attacking Transition (25 mins)
THE SESSION: Transition Defence to Attack (low zone)
Set Up: 30x45
Area spilt into three parts, each section 15x30
Blues start in zone one and try to score in the goal
Reds look to regain possession as soon as possible
As soon as they regain possession they play forward into the neutral player in zone 2
Reds can use the two wide neutrals to move up the pitch
Once every player from the red team is in zone 2, the ball can be played into the neutral in zone 3
Reds then look to score in the goal past the keeper
Once ball is dead, the ball restarts in zone 1 but roles reversed
Key Messages:
Pitch small, out of possession
Quick transition into attack
Flood the pitch
Vertical passes
