Description

Focusing on 1-4-2-3-1 formation and how you can break lines into the attacking third and look to score using delayed runs from 7,11 in behind 9 from wide areas. Width provided from 2,3 while 6,8,10 triangulate the midfield third with support provided from 4,5. Focus on the types of movement that could affect the opposition and create space for supporting players, body shape when recieving to play forward, occupying opposite full backs and runs on the inside shoulder taking them into their own box. Quick movement of the ball in the midfield third, playing into 9 and how support play behind and in front (the way he is facing) can affect the defending back 4.

Triangulate the middle of the field looking to recieve the ball on back foot and play forward into 11,7,9,10 qulality passing, quick movement of the ball and quick decisions in central mid area using 2,3 as wide players and angles of support if forward pass cannot be played. Look to switch play either side to unbalance and disorganize defending team. Look to support attacking players with forward thinking runs from deep with or without the ball drawing defenders out of position or creating numbers up scenarios in the attacking third. Attacking the box with delayed runs from deep, taking defenders into areas that create instabilty and confusion with the defending team. Offer support to 6 and allow runs from deep to not make the play predictable and force defenders to keep guessing who is making 3rd man runs.
