topic: build up pattern - warm-up (10 minutes) + dynamic stretching

phase defensive to midfield 

back 3 build up - circuit 

- allows players to develop relationships and connections in an unopposed manner while building familiarity with the shape and structure 

dynamic stretching - stretching while moving 

- divide players into 2 side by side lines

- players preform dynamic stretching  - high knees, open/close hips, high kicks, etc. (3-4 minutes)

5 steps to intervene while coaching 

- freeze, recreate, demonstrate, rehearse, go live

topic - 6v6 small-sided game - pressing in a high block (10 minutes)

initial game

organization:

- 6v6 small-sided game

- exercise focuses on a unit scale and comprises a 6v6 game

- focus on pressing and regaining possession, while also playing out against a high block to progress play and create chances

- defensive team must always press high inside the opponents half

- offside rule applies for both teams

key factors and progressions:

- by blocking the centre and orientating the opposition to play wide, the pressing team can close play down on one side

- ensuring both vertical and horizontal compactness, the pressing team can deny the opposition space to progress play forward. 

- composure when dealing with the high press - don't panic 

- scan before they receive 

- control -  firsttouch, control away from pressure, outcome after you control the ball

- decision making - on the ball - appropriate skill in certain situations

- pressing as a unit in shape 

- timing of movement - mobility off the ball

- center back-push high -  don't leave space in the middle 

- support - angle + distance

activity

organization:

- 45'x30' - 12 players involved 

- starts with an unopposed forward pass into central player 

- once the central player takes their first touch, it becomes a live 3v2 attacking scenario and will play to finish 

- if the attacking 3 score, play restarts the opposite team begin their attacking phase.

- if the defenders win possession, they must play forwards to begin the counter attack
