Unmarking Drill (20 mins)
Organization: 20x20 grid, 4 players, 2 neutrals and 1v1 in the grid. 1 neutrals will be on each side of the grid. Point is given every time the ball is switched from one side to another. Players can use nuetral again for support. One min of play and switch one player in the middle at a time.
Instructions: 1v1. Players will learn to hide behind the defender and move into space. Player in possession must receive the ball, while being pressured, and look to dribble away from defender or pass to other neutral player. If defender wins the ball, he now becomes player in possession and must look to score by unmarking.
Coaching Points/Questions: To lose your defender, what movements must we use? Hide behind him and then move into space.
Why hide him behind him? So now he has to be aware of the ball in front and player behind.
Do we always do this movement to unmark? No, you can come from behind and in front of (check in) to receive the ball, and turn to beat the defender or shield.
Regressions/Progressions:
R: Divide grid into 2, defender can not get into the 1st grid until player in possession touches the ball.
P: Add counter/goals.

4v4+4 (30 mins)
Organization: Teams of 4. 1 team is neutral and 2 teams play in grid.
Instructions: Connect 10 passes to score. If the defending team steals the ball, they become the team in possession. Use neutral players for support and to maintain possession.
Coaching Points/Questions: Can we provide support to player with the ball? Passing angles? Space?
Can we beat players to maintain possession?
Regressions/Progressions:
R: Less passes to score goal.
P: Add touch restriction. Add counter goals,for defending team.

Passing Pattern (10 mins)
Organization: As shown, 20x10 or adjust to age/level.
Instructions: Passing pattern, players starts with the ball and passes to player in the middle of the grid. The player that just passed the ball is to call out a color that is behind the receiver. The player in the middle is to check shoulder to see where that color and pass to that player. The color is to pass back to receiver and then played back to the start of the pattern. Repeat again, and switch every 2-3 mins.
Coaching Points/Questions: Checking shoulder before receiving the ball. Know where the players are. Communications. Weight of the pass and touch. Receive with back foot and pass.
