SAQ - Pressing with pace
Description: Players are split into 3 grids of even numbers, players are working on eplosiveness and pressing with intensity. The coach calls a colour and then presses it.
Progression 2 - Need to arc to one side
Progression 3 - Players press in a double where the first man applies nearest pressure and the second man fills into an area of cover.
Progression 3 - Groups are split A , B , C when the coach calls a letter, the first man in the letter called line applies first press while the first players in the other 2 lines apply cover and balance
Coaching points:
1) Pressing - Intense and calculated, can I use the pitch to my advantage?
2) Cover - Can the player see the pressers number? Can he block off threat?
3) Balance - Can the player see the covering players number? Can he stop opposition forward passes

Technical developmet - Passing & recieving
Description: Players are in a structured passing combination exercise focused of passing, recieving, and also cognitive development in terms of the speed decisions need to be made at in remembering runs
Coaching points:
1) Quality of passing - W , T , D , A
2) Recieving - Touch toward the next target, can the player cushion the ball to play off his second touch?
3) Communication - Verbally and non verbally
4) Movement - Checks and peeling off the cone
5) Cognitive - Think of next task, whats the players next run, pass and decision?

Topic functional practise - Pressure/cover/balance
Description: Grid is 20x25 however works btter with more space depending on players ability. Thre is a 6x6 square in the iddle. The objective of the red players is to keep possession inside the square and score by passing the football through the 6x6. Red players cannot enter or dribble into the square but can rotate around it freely. Blue players aim to use a pressure/cover/balace system to win possession aggressively and stop any forward passing
Coaching points:
1) Pressing - The nearest man to the football must press aggressively and with intensity. Before the player decides to press, can they identify a certain trigger to press? Can players use the grid to their advantage? eg; arc to the touchline
2) Pressing triggers - Bad touches, eye contact, moving football
3) Covering - Players are always covering when not in possession, can a player ask themself, if I'm not pressing, what can I protect? Can the covering player see his pressing teammates number? Can he get into a position of pressing if ball gets transferred?
4) Balance - This player is key to stopping forward passes, blocking killer passes and also being in a position for the ball to be recycled if won clrealy. If the ball gets switched, can they apply early pressure as the ball is travelling?

SSG - 3V3 Conditioned
Description: Players are lined up 3v3 inside a grid that is split into 2. The objective for the blue team is to create 3 passess before entering into the attacking half where there is no conditions. The 3 red players are encouraged to immediately apply a pressure/cover/balance system in the blue defensive half and try to win the ball high up.
