Set up: Half or third of pitch, markers, mannequinns and players set up either side as shown.
Procedure: Player 1 rolls the ball forward and plays the ball up to player 2. The trigger for player 2 to check their run is when player 1 rolls the ball, they then receive the ball with an open body and play a pass to the opposite wide player (3). Player 3 takes a positive touch forward to allow them to run onto the ball and then play a pass down to player 4. Players follow their pass. If including goalkeepers, they can roll the ball out to player 1s. Both sides go at the same time.
Progression: Add the bounce pass.

Set up: Half pitch, 2 teams set up in a 2-3-1/3-2-1. Two wide channels marked out and two lines of traffic cones lined up centrally at each end of the pitch to act as blockers.
Procedure: Teams can not play the ball through the the traffic cones and must look to play out into the wide areas. Players can run through the coned line.
Progression: With the removal of the traffic cones, teams can only play inside the pitch and only the wide areas in the defensive & attacking third. This is to encourage teams to play through the middle of the pitch and out into the wide areas. Build on to free play.

Warm up (Intro) (10 mins)
Set up: 2 groups, 2 replica stations of 2 traffic cones to pass through and cones to mark each line either side of the cones.
Procedure: Player 1 dribbles to the traffic cones and passes to the next player and then procedues to run across to the opposite line.
Progression: Player 1 takes a touch and plays the ball through the traffic cones to the next player and then procedues to run across to the opposite line. The next player takes a touch and repeats the drill. Build onto the 'bounce pass'.
