Warm up first, 1 player in the middle, remainder around the centre circle, increase comms. Discuss position on receiving the ball, playing out, movement when not in possession. Move into Rondo (number off, 2 in at a time) encourage second line passing. Once warmed up, then begin the session. The first passing drill is a take from a recent Man City's passing drill.

Half turns focussing on getting the ball out of the feet in the direction of travel to assist with our quick movements. The player in the middle works on 8 passes from each player then we rotate the player. You could also tweak it & place the players around each square so each player has to rotate more often, even potentially give it a more competitive spin against the other teams in their respective boxes.
Relate if possible to game play, such as FB receiving off GK and trying to receive the ball, looking at 3 corners of the pitch heading the way he needs with minimum fuss. Triggers for others are when the player before them receives the ball. We can switch to keep on toes!!!
If need be, we can regress, take it slower, break it down and take a player out, roll the ball to him so he understands the technique taught.

Number off players so they know who is going in the middle. Rondo. Potentially start off with 1 or 2 and concentrate on 2nd line passes. When the players have got a good understanding of it, they are to progress to the 3 or 4 square model as depicted above. Notice how some players need to have even more awareness as they are taking part in 2 boxes therefore communications is essential too!!
Work on body shape, first touch, movement before & after receiving & comms.

Peps passing drill. Players on the outside look to keep the ball and when the right opportunity is on, play the ball into the central square, who will then play the ball back out to the wide players.
Defenders look to rotate around, stopping the other team passing into the box player. If they win the ball, they all go into the central square for a little 3 v 1 Rondo.

Progression; Central player maximum of 2 touches, looks to switch play, move into space within his box creating a passing lane to receive again and spread the play. Work on the points previously discussed in the warm up.
Give praise to players movement off the ball. Is their body position and first touch what it should be? If not- Explain, demo then practice! Quicker the better with this drill, second line passing!

Reds 2-2-2(Managed), Blues 2-3-1(Coached). Reds I want to pass through the thirds, and use the wide players if need be. Blues I want the same as the reds, however I want more possession, switches to wide areas and show good movement (into space) to receive play.
Ball arrives, player arrives in end zones 1 goal. Goal scored, 1 goal. quick interplay in the middle/final third resulting in either a goal scored or end zones results in 2 goals.
Only shoot from the final thirds.
Challenges play through the thirds, utilising wide areas. In transition do they secure the first pass? What is the players movement?

Warm up (10 mins)
Key Factors Warm up. After stretches & light jogging, ball into a player in the middle, receives and passes out to a player. Work on comms & how they receive the ball. Take player out if they dont understand and show what you need again if necessary.
Look at players movement & anticipation in and out of the square. After 5 mins, 4 in the middle, basic rondo with a large square to acheive what is set out, through or around but trying for the elusive second line pass through the players through quick interplay! Discuss triggers if need be, try & warm up with exercises involving the ball!
Finish with stretches and 50 - 75% sprints.
