Organisation:

  • each player to have a ball

Instruction:

  • player to drop it onto their foot and kick it back up and catch it at waist height

Coaching Points:

  • try to kick the ball waist height
  • use both feet (need to use two feet when you juggle otherwise you fall over

Progressions:

Beginners:

  • instead of catching it see if you can juggle 2x, 3x, 4x
  • see if they can juggle on their thighs
  • see if they can control their kick to head height

Organisation:

  • start individually to warm up juggling then get into pairs

Instruction:

  • see how many juggles two players can get together

Coaching Points:

  • give enough heigh in the pass for team mate to get it ie play the ball up in the air
  • communication / calling

Progressions:

  • join two groups together to make 4 players

competition - which team can get the most

Organisation:

  • organise players into two or three groups with one ball between them
  • bucket 10 - 15m away with one player who serves the ball into their team mates

Instruction:

  • team mates to control the ball into the air and start working together to keep the ball up whilst moving towards the bucket to get the ball into the bucket

Coaching Points:

Progressions:

  • if too hard, allow one bounce per team

Volleyball

Organisation:

  • divide players into their 2 teams

Instruction:

  • for beginner, ball to be kicked over net from their hands, opposition team to catch it or allow one bounce depending on age
  • for intermediate, no catching allowed but one bounce permitted
  • for advanced, no bounces

Coaching Points:

  • use all parts of your body
  • call for the ball

Progressions:


  • eliminations, if a player makes a mistake they are out, winning team is the one who has players left!
