Technical Warm-Up : 3 man passing triangle with combinations
Players are split into 2 groups and then into 3 lines/positions (A,B + C), playing in groups of 3's.
Player B "checks to the ball, Player A passes to B and moves slowly down the line towards the shaded area, where he waits as a passive defender until combination is complete.
Player B receives the ball from A, passes to player C and then makes an overlap run. Player C receives the ball and dribbles diaginally to opposite side of Player A (passive defender), then makes a short pass into space for the on-running player B who dribbles to position A.
Player B is on one side of passive defender (A) while player C is on the other side.
.
Coaching Points :
Timing of runs from Player B and C (pass to be made before Player B runs past the defender)
Diangional run with a short straight pass, or a straight run with a short diagonal pass behind the defender
Various types of short passes (outside of foot, toe, push pass, disquise etc...)
Visual cues and verbal communication to increase speed of play and timing
.
Rotations :
After each repetition, Player A moves to line C, Player B moves to line A and Player C moves to line B
Rotate sides for the first pass

Technical Passing Patterns : 3 man passing into space :
One large group split into 2
Player A passes to B (who checks-in) and moves diagonal for a return pass in a new area, then makes a pass into space for Player C, after which he moves to start the next rotation from position B.
Player B checks back, returns pass from Player A then continues to overlap player A and move into position C.
Player C creates space between himself and the cone while Players A + B combine passes, once pass is made for him from Player A he runs into space to receive the pass and dribble to the back of the line going the other direction.
.
This is a 3 man combination passing pattern that involves 2 passes to feet to set-up the third pass into space. There is always movement before each player receives a pass, timing of the runs

Ajax Squares : Pasing & Receiving Exercise :
2 groups of 8 players with one ball per group
2 players around a large cone (Red cones is Yellow group, White cones are Red group) forming 2 large squares (25 yards apart)
Players pass and Receive the ball corner to corner, they play a quick "Wall-pass" at each cone between the two players
Progressions :
1..2 touches per player
2..Distance between cones (8-15 yards)
3..2 balls per group
Coaching Points :
* Movement to receive the ball
* Communication (Visual and Verbal)
* Open Body position
* Techniques of passing (short and long)

Passsing and Receiving Activity
Players are split into 6 or more in a group
Distance between players/lines can vary between 6-15 yards
Players are working on correct body position, receiving with different parts of their feet, using Feints and looking behind them before receiving
.
Stage A (Yellow group)
Player (1) passes to (2) and then moves into Line (2)
Player (2) receives the ball, turns and passes to Player (3) then moves into that position
Player (3) receives the ball and dribbles quickly to back of line (1)
Each repetition is to rotate sides (Lines 3 or 4)
.
Stage B (Red Group)
Same rotation as Yellow group except there is a Wall-pass added between Player (2) and (3/4)
.
Stage C (Blue Group)
There is now 2 wall-passes in this repetition
Player (1) makes a wall-pass with Player (2) then passes to Player (3)
Player (3) then makes a wall-pass with Player (2) before dribbling to end of Line (1)
.
Stage D (Green group)
2nd player in Line (2) now acts as a passive defender by applying pressure to 1st player in Line (2)
Player receiving the ball must check their shoulder to see where the pressure is coming from, use feints to receive the ball and turn away from pressure and pass to the player (3/4)
Rotation : Same as others with the addition of Passive defender moving into receiving pattern
