This game is all about players getting used to dribbling with a ball and looking to dribble into specific areas keeping the ball close to their feet. Rather than listen to a command, they have to look to see what colour zone they need to get to. This encourages players keeping their heads up and scanning.

Organisation:
30m x 20m pitch. Four corners of the pitch are marked with coloured discs - blue, white, green, red. The size of the corner zones depend on number of players and ability.
All players have a ball each
The coach has one disc in each colour to correspond to the zones
Objective:
The players should dribble the ball around the pitch, but keep their heads up so they can see the coach. When they see / hear the colours, they should dribble the ball into that zone.
Key skills:
Keep their heads up to see
Dribble the ball, keeping it close to their feet
Progressions:
The players dribble the ball around, and the coach who is stationary at the side of the pitch, will hold up one of the coloured disc and call out the colour. This allows the players still learning to keep their heads up to hear the colour and react.
The coach will only hold a coloured disc in the air, which makes the players get their heads up.
The coach will move around the pitch, so the players have to keep their heads up to look for the coach and watch to see what coloured disc they raise.
Game/Competition:
Make it competitive, by introducing where the player that is last to enter the zone is eliminated from the game. One by one, players go out until an eventual winner.
