BOTH TEAMS PLAYING A 4-2-3-1 FORMATION WITH 6 V 4 + GK TO PLAY OUT OF OWN HALF WITH 7/11/10/9 IN OPPOSITION HALF AT START OF PLAY
I WILL COACH YELLOW TEAM WITH 2ND COACH COACHING RED TEAM
PHASE 1
PLAY MUST START FROM EITHER GK WITH TEAM LOOKING TO PLAY THROUGH THE 1/3RDS TO SCORE
ENCOURAGE BOTH TEAMS TO STRETCH THE OPPOSITION PRESS AND USE PASSING OPTIONS COACHED IN WAVES AT START OF SESSION
PLAYERS MUST RUN THE BALL OVER CENTRAL ZONE (4 YDS) TO LINK WITH FRONT 4 AND ATTACKING TEAM CAN COMMIT AS MANY PLAYERS FORWARD AS THEY WANT TO CREATE OFFENSIVE OVERLOADS. ENCOURAGE A COUNTER PRESS WHEN ATTACKING TEAM LOOSES POSSESSION & IF KEEPER HAS GOOD POSSESSION ENCOURAGE EARLY DISTRIBUTION TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OPPOSITION LOSS OF SHAPE.
FRONT 4 FROM EACH TEAM MUST STAY IN ATTAXKING HALF AT ALL TIMES.
* ENCOURAGE TEAM IN POSSESSION TO BE EXPANSIVE TO STRETCH OPPOSITION PRESS AND PLAY FORWARD TO BREAK LINES WHENEVER POSSIBLE OR USE GK AS PIVOT TO RETAIN POSSESSION.
PHASE 2: No 10 ON BOTH TEAMS CAN DROP INTO CENTRAL ZONE TO RECEIVE BALL TO START ATTACK AND CENTRAL ZONE CAN BE PASSED THROUGH FOR RUNNER OR TO ONE OF FRONT 4.
PHASE 3: RED GK PLAYS LONG TO START PLAY WITH PLAYERS LOCKING IN AND JUMPING UNITS IF THEY CAN PUT PRESSURE ON THE BALL AND WIN IT HIGH
YELLOW TEAM MUST STILL LOOK TO PLAY FROM GK
PHASE 4: OPEN PLAY
FINAL PHASE PLAY FULL WIDTH OF PITCH AND ENCOURAGE TEAMS TO EITHER PRESS HIGH OR DROP FOR MID BLOCK.

FAST ZONE PREP X 20 MINS 3 groups of 7
3 groups of 7 working in 3 zones A/B/C
ZONE A 30x20 with 1 ball = ball manipulation with use of 3-5 touch to cut/chop at speed with 1st touch to break lines
ZONE B = centre circle > 3 balls with juggling 2 touch . passing 1-2 touch in close proximity
ZONE C = 2 x 10x10 grids 10 yds apart with a 3 & a 4 completing a safe pass before passing using different clubs to opposite side
each group has 2 mins in each zone with 3 cycles totalling 18 mins
coach can change ball speed with use of whistle and integrate calisthenics into session after each pass ie lunge/squat/press up etc
