Set Up:
- Box is 40 long by 20 wide (subject to change on need of group).
Diagram Description:
- Players 1 and 2 both check away (deep check off) and check to the ball on the opposite side from where they start
- Players 3 and 4 pass to players 1 and 2 and tell them to turn.
- Ball is then passed out to players 5 and 6 who then run the ball to the end of the queue.
- Players follow their pass so 3 takes 2 spot, 4 takes 1 spot, 1 goes to 5 and 2 goes to 6.
- Sequence continues.
Progression 1
- The passer tells the player checking off man on instead of turn. Ball is set back and then played to the player in position 5 and 6. Movement is the same.
Progression 2
- After the player sets the ball back, they can then do an overlap to receive the return pass and then continue the sequence as before.
Progression 3
- Add in a give and go at the top of the session so in any variation, when the ball is played up to player 5 and 6, follow that pass and play a give and go around their cone instead of having them simply dribble the ball to the next queue.

Go through several variations of playing out from the back unopposed.
1. Goalkeeper plays to LWB or RWB who then plays a 1-2 with the central midfielder.
2. Goalkeeper plays to CB who plays to CM who sends a ball into space for the LWB or RWB.
3. Goalkeeper plays a ball to the ST who lays off to the CM, the CM then plays a ball into space for the LWB or RWB.
4. Goalkeeper plays a ball to the CM who sets it back to LWB or RWB, the LWB or RWB then plays a ball to the CB who plays it to the opposite WB.
5. Play one more variation where the ball goes back to the goalkeeper.
* First option is always to the striker, otherwise we try to get to the striker as quickly as possible without forcing the pass.
Targets:
1 - Striker: If available, DO NOT force!
2 - CM: If the other team is disorganized.
3 - Wing-Back: Wide on the touch line.
4 - CB: Is next to the goalkeeper, facing forward so they do not have to turn and can see the field (most common option).
Details:
Fast - Play the ball in quickly
Feet - Play to your teammate's feet (depending on the scenario), so they have time to evaluate the right choice and play
Flat - Pass needs to be on the ground
Follow - Support the player you just played the ball to and give an angle
Give yourself space from the retreat line
Center mids starting position behind the other team's center mid and strikers shoulders.
One wing-back makes a run or dribbles, the other stays and supports the center back.

As the ball is played:
3 - Anticipates the keeper's pass and makes a curved run to "take away the edge" (the line). Must get their quickly!
9 - "One way", striker takes away the passing lane between the two defenders so they cannot go out the other way.
8 - Gets close to player 3 to try and win the ball in midfield.
6 - Gets in the passing lane between player 3 and 8 to try and win the ball in midfield.
5 - Shifts over ball side, keeping opposing stiker in front of him or communicating with player 2 to switch.
2 - "Tucks in" to the middle to get close to 5. May have to switch with player 5 and keep opposing team's striker in front of them.
1 - Steps up in case they try to play over the top. Hit the ball deep if under pressure!
*Goal is to win the ball in midfield and attack their goal quickly or secure possession by playing backwards to keep the ball and drag the opposing team out of position.

Set up a 5v5 or 6v6 game dependent on the amount of players available (may need a neutral or coach in net).
1. Conditional Game - Everytime the ball goes out of play, start with a goal kick (15 mins).
2. Set Pieces - Stop the play to coach players through several set piece opportunities such as; corners, indirect free kicks, kick-ins, penalties, etc. (15 mins)
2. Let the boys play! Make sure they focus on the theme of the session (15 mins).

Skill (Opposed) - Ball Manipulation Waves (10 mins)
Set-Up:
- 20 x 20 grid
- Players are split into 4 colors
Diagram Description:
- The players opposite each other will dribble at one another and go to the other side, then the other 2 groups will go. When your group isn't going you will work foundation, toe taps, sole laces or anything other tight footwork the coach would like to throw in.
- Once the players get the hang of the moving across and dodging one another we move on to the progressions.
Progressions:
- A player starts in between 2 cones, when they go to the opposite side, they must move to a different grid (can't be in between the same 2 cones they started at so if you are in the middle, you must finish on one of the sides on the opposite side)
- When the player gets to the middle of the grid, they must do a trick of their choice before moving to the other side
- Have all 4 groups go at once and navigate the chaos
Coaching Points:
- Head up, scanning to find space
- Attack with speed, accelerate after completing skill move
