5:30 - 5:50pm
Set Up:
- Set up your pop up goals to create 2 fields
- As players arrive and finish their pre-practice technical have them hop onto a field to play
- Numbers are intentionally kept small to get lots of touches and introduce topic
CP's:
- Be Engaged
- On your field in your team
- Encourage players with what topic you are working on (Guided Questions)
- Numbers up / Numbers down are perfectly fine and honestly preferred sometimes. This will help players naturally adapt tactically to the game and build some character to overcome circumstances

5:50 - 6pm
Set Up:
- SAME SET UP AS THE LADDER (MINUS THE GATES)
- 10 x 15 yard grids
- Red cone 4 yards from side cone for defender
- 2 players will share a grid
- Attacking player starts on the corner cone with the ball
- Defending player starts on the red cone
- Play starts when the attacking player takes their first touch. Defender reacts to the first touch.
- Attacking player is dribbling to opposite side. First few rounds start off slow and then pick up speed.
- Defending player is trying to get in front of attacker, and contain the ball in good attacking position until they get to the opposite side
- Alternate Roles
CP's:
- DON'T run beside attacker
- Pick a spot you can beat the attacker to, race to it, and get in good defensive form to protect the goal- Use your body (shoulders, arms and step through with legs) to gain positioning
Guided Questions:
1) Why don't we run beside the attacker? Give the attacker a free path toward the goal. Aren't effectively defending
2) Are you allowed to use your body when defending and trying to gain position? Absolutely. Step in front, shoulders and arm within reason. Be aggressive
