Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Pressing Possession (Start Time: 2014-10-22 17:00:00)

5 v 5 + 2 x GKs as servers

Play 4 x 5 minute games with 2 minute interventions

Team in possession scores by passing to the opposite yellow server. The pass to the server has to be in advance of the white HWL.

The team out of possession tries to press and steal the ball in the attacking half and score by passing to the server.

When in possession 2 x centre backs can drop into the corner squares. They are unopposed but have 3 seconds in possession.

Key Points out of possession

1. No 9 stop the switch from CB to CB.

2. No 10 stop a pass into the DLM

3. All others press and stop forward or switched passes.

Key in defensive transition is to communicate and win the ball back within 4 passes.
