Equipment Needed:
Game 1: Size dependent on age/ability. Lower ability, bigger the space and make smaller as they see success. Ball starts with the GK who plays the ball out with their hands. Orange then plays 2v1 to any goal. Can they find space, move the ball quickly? If defenders win the ball they shoot on the big goal/GK. If GK saves the ball, play continues. Make it harder: Play with offsides
Game 2: 2v2 to any goal, but additional defender can defend a goal
Coaching Points:
Speed of passes - Move the ball to move the defender
Proper body shape and first touch when receiving
Shooting early when the shot is available
Can you create a shot in a 1v1 situation?

Set Up
As above
Instructions:
Blue start with 2v1 attack - as soon as blue teams shoots, the two orange players beside the goal dribble out and counter attack right away with two players against one blue defender. The player to last touch the ball on the attacking team leaves the playing area and the other one becomes the defender.
Progression:
1. One of the attacking players can stay and defend after shooting while the other must touch the post of the goal they are shooting on and become a recovering defender
2. This can move into a 2v2 attack (after attacking your pair become the defenders while the par that was defending leave the playing field)
Coaching Points
1. Dribble at defender at speed (Change of speed and direction)
2. Unbalance the defender and attack open space
3. Shooting technique (plant foot, laces or instep)
4. Types of shot (near post, far post, high or low)

2v1 Atttacking scenarios
Organization:
Play 2v1, pug nets on each side, two lines on one endline, one line on the other endline.
Have the coach playin in one of the attackers and have another supporting player come on
the field with on oncoming defender to create a 2v1 scenario. Encourage using proper passing
and receiving techniques to beat the one person press and score the goal.
If defender wins the ball, can they score on the other net.
If no success, change activity to a 3v1 to promote passing and receiving.
Progression: Have 2 oncoming defenders to make it a 2v2 scenario.
Coaching points : Technical - Passing:
See the player first (communicate, eye contact, vocal or using your body)
Body position (planting foot slightly ahead of the ball so your body is over the ball, eyes on the ball, lock your ankle, follow through, weight of the pass, part of the foot, and part of the ball)
