- Can you teach your skill to another player?
- Can you come up with a new skill?
- Can you combine mulitple skills?
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.

- Players have bib tucked into shorts to make tail. Players must try to escape from defending player and try to avoid having tail stolen.
- Can be done as 1 with and 1 without or both have tail.
KEY POINTS:
- ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION TO GET DEFENDER OFF BALANCE (FAST/SLOWING/FAST)
- USE OF FEINTS, FAKES AND DOUBLE MOVEMENTS TO GET DEFENDER OFF BALANCE AND CREATE DISTANCE
- APPROACH TO DEFENDER (AT DEFENDER/ AWAY FROM DEFENDER OR INTO SPACE?)
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Reduce area size or have individual group boxes.
- Switch opposition to allow for different challenge.
- Team challenge. 1 team with tails and 1 without.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 1v1 mini matches. Players set up own goals and pitches.
- To score, player must dribble through goal.
- Switch match ups to have varying opposition.
- Can players use fakes/feints/double movements to off balance defender and create distance to attack? Is a skill required?
KEY POINTS:
- ANGLE OF APPROACH TO DEFENDER/GOAL (STRAIGHT AT DEF OR OFF CENTRE INTO SPACE? HOW WILL THIS AFFECT WHAT THE DEFENDER DOES?)
- SPEED OF APPROACH TO DEFENDER/GOAL (FAST-SLOWING-FAST/WHY DO WE NEED TO SLOW DOWN TO CHANGE DIRECTION? WILL THIS AFFECT WHAT THE DEFENDER DOES?/ CAN WE ACCELERATE AWAY?/WHAT IF WE STOP? HOW MIGHT THIS AFFECT OUR DRIBBLING IN A MATCH?)
- ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION TO GET DEFENDER OFF BALANCE (FAST/SLOWING/FAST)
- USE OF FEINTS, FAKES AND DOUBLE MOVEMENTS TO GET DEFENDER OFF BALANCE AND CREATE DISTANCE
- IS A SKILL REQUIRED?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- 2v1/2v2.
- Can you use a skill that is not part of individual challenges?
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 1v1 with transition from attack to defend.
- Attacker can score into either of the 2 goals. Once they have finished their attack (score/miss/tackle/OOB) then they immediately become the defender against the next attacker.
- Focus on use of fakes, feints or double movements to get defender off balance and create opening to attack goal.
- DO YOU NEED TO GET PAST THE DEFENDER? WHAT MIGHT YOU DO IF YOU CANNOT GET PAST THE DEFENDER? (GET DEFENDER OFF BALANCE/CREATE ENOUGH SPACE AND DISTANCE AWAY FROM DEFENDER SO THAT YOU CAN PASS/SHOOT)
- IS A SKILL REQUIRED?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Change goal locations (to change game/position scenarios).
- Switch pitch to allow attack from right and left side.
- 2v1 to offer use of dsguise via pass.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 1v1 with 2 side goals.
- Defender starts with ball and plays pass across to opposite attacker.
- Attacker then can score in either goal. If defender steals ball, they can score in either goal.
- HOW MIGHT A FEINT, FAKE, DOUBLE MOVEMENT LOOK AGAINST A DEFENDER? (USE OF BODY/USE OF EXAGGERATION AND DISGUISE/ CHANGE IN DIRECTION, SPEED OR TOUCHES)
- Include gates in front of goal.
- 1) player can score freely or through gate. Must do opposite on next attempt.
- 2) must go through gate to score.
- 3) If defender steals ball, must score via gate.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.

- HOW MIGHT A FEINT, FAKE, DOUBLE MOVEMENT LOOK AGAINST A DEFENDER? (USE OF BODY/USE OF EXAGGERATION AND DISGUISE/ CHANGE IN DIRECTION, SPEED OR TOUCHES)
