attackers line up at the same cones and angle themselves towards their opponent at the blue gate.
on coaches command players step to close the attackers space.
1. sprint to close

3. sideways on as if surfing with him
4. match his speed and look to poke tackle with FRONT foot.
rotate defenders whenever he is dribbled past.

Group defending 3v3 (20 mins)
Set up & organization
Set up a 28x28 and split into two sides. Have one big goal that the defending team is defending, and two small counter goals at the end of the channels.
Instructions
The attacking team start off and attack the three defenders. They have no restrictions. The defending team are split into a LB, RB, and CB. The CB can go anywhere but the two outside backs must stay in their respective channels. Play until a goal is scored or the ball is dead and rotate and et up for next attack. All players must get a chance to attack and defend.
Coaching points
a. Pressure, b. cover, and c. balance with the back three. Can the CB provide cover and keep the group balanced? can the opposite outside back tuck in and keep our balance?
1. Good shape at all times and high intensity to WANT to win the ball
2. Can the full backs show wide attackers away from goal?
3. If the ball is won by the defenders can they counter quickly?
