Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Defending against a number 10

Screen 1

• Balls will start with the green keeper and the blue team will try and get the ball to there number 10 to score a goal in the mini goal 
• once a goal is scored they will start at the keeper again
• if the red team win the ball back they can try and score
• if the ball goes dead it will start at the blue keeper 
• then to progress we can change the pitch layout into screen 2 and have a bigger area for the 10 to play into

Organisation

• Flats (for the number 10s box)
• tall cones (to mark the pitch)
• 2X8 different coloured bibs 
• footballs

Use of Challenges, conditions and targets

• a red players can go into the number 10 box. he cannot tackle him but can put him under pressure and challenger for arial balls 
• a defender is put in the box with the number 10 and can tackle him
• when ball is won back opposition team have 10 seconds to score 
• 10 can come out the box to receive but a point is not given till he recieves in the area 
• could then change the pitch layout and see if the 10 has a wider area and a 1v1 how we can look to change out shape to stop the 10 getting the ball

Opposition team try to play around through or over into the 10. Can the team out of position stop long balls press aggressively to win the ball Cut passing lanes to the 10 angle of run when pressing

When the 10 drops can the CDM follow and the midfield 3 rotate
